I have been working on my gallery wall for months (more details on that later) and the frame that I had as a place holder didn’t make sense with just pictures in it (they would be too high up to even see). Then it hit me! I could remove the back and turn it into “art”. Which is when I got the idea for making a DIY Faux Stained Glass Art Project…but don’t worry…this ain’t your grandma’s stained glass!

Have you seen stuff?? It’s the coolest product ever. It’s easy to adhere window film made for creating privacy. There are so many different designs to match any style.
I used a , but you could also repurpose an old frame. First, remove the back from the frame.
Next, take the glass out and clean it. Use the mat as a pattern to cut your window film. Now just follow the product instructions. SPOILER ALERT: you only have to wet the glass and squeegee! So fun!! It even has the “lead” texture of real stained glass!!
Carefully replace the glass back into the frame and leave the back off so you can see through your new pretty Faux Stained Glass. Push down the back prongs to securely hold glass in the frame. Done in less than 10 minutes! Ain’t it pretty???
Now hang on your wall and admire…
It was definitely the perfect missing piece to my gallery wall. Seriously, this wall makes me smile every time I pass by. I always love walking into Kate Spade and seeing their gallery wall displays and have been tossing around ideas for my own version for a while now. Since I know Kate would want us all to “Eat Cake for Breakfast”, I knew now was the time to finish my wall. After all…it is the little things…
