The “Olivia Art Party” theme is well underway. (Remember the invitation I posted here?) We had to postpone the party for now, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have a sneak peek for you of some of the projects:) I thought an Olivia Crayon Wreath would be the perfect way to greet guests as they arrive at the party!
How to Make a Crayon Wreath
Supplies:
-3
-1
-1
–
– to hang
Tip: Lay out the crayons in a pattern before you start to glue to get spacing right. Trust me on this one…I’ll admit I had to do this part twice to figure that out! Then glue each crayon one by one to both hoops. Don’t be afraid to use an amble amount of glue so all the crayons stay put!
Be careful not to hold the glue gun too long as the crayons will melt. But have no fear, if it does melt then you could always turn it into one of those melted crayon projects. No room for any Pinterest Fails here–that’s just how I roll!! This is the view from behind. Be sure to remove any stringy glue from the back to clean it up.
Add a ribbon to hang (mine is the signature Olivia ).
Place your (or favorite character) in middle (use twist tie to secure if needed). My daughter is absolutely obsessed with Olivia the Pig which I know she will shortly outgrow!

What a neat project. Unfortunately I was born without the craft gene, and I’m sure my project would end up looking nothing like the photo!I just stopped by from SITS to say hello. I hope you find time to do the same.

Thanks for stopping by Eva :) I will definitely stop by to say hello!!!

Love it! But I fear what would happen if the sun hit it!

Good point Christa! I started to think about that too–I figured maybe I would take it down after everyone arrives or display it on an interior door. Or…guess I could wind up with a REALLY colorful front door:) haha!

Pinspiration! This is the first time I heard the term — I love it! I have more Pinspiration on my boards than I can do in a lfiteime. I have an entire board devoted to wreaths, both DIY and ones I just find pretty (and one on my front door). I adore that crayon wreath and am going to see if my friend will let me make one to hang in the classroom where she teaches! Thanks for sharing the cool resources. I’m new to your blog and really enjoy your work.

My almost 4yr old loves Olivia, and I tried to appease my husband by trying to find an Ian stuffed animal if I got Olivia. Luckily I ended up finding a Olivia book on clearance at a Borers “going out of business” sale which made all of us happy until we find a well-rounded piggy family!

Haha Brianna! I love the solution:) There’s something about that PIG :)

This is wonderful! I am actually in the process of making one for a close friend of mine. I just have a couple questions. What sizes are the sewing hoops? How exactly did you place the crayons? Thanks!
