One of my most popular posts are the Diaper Babies from my baby shower back in 2012 for my son. I always love and appreciate creative and unique ways to give the mom to be some of the essentials. Being that the mother to be was my Sister-In-Law…and my brother is one of THE biggest Star Wars fans I know, I decided to use items off their registry to make an R2D2 Diaper Cake. This also would be the perfect decor for a Star Wars Themed Baby Shower!

This adorable was actually my inspiration for the entire project. Isn’t it adorable?! I knew it would be the perfect finishing touch for the R2D2 Diaper Cake!
First, take your diaper wipe containers and hot glue the baby powder to the top (don’t be afraid to be generous with the glue, they will be able to remove it later to use the items). Set aside and start rolling the diapers and use the to secure.
Now tip the baby bathtub vertically and use your dowel rods to secure the tub to the R2D2 legs. Use extra clear bands and hot glue for this process (again, don’t be afraid to be generous with the glue). Next, use a clear band to secure the diaper bags to make the front wheel. Then get to work filling the tub with all the rolled diapers…this part may take a while…
Finally, add a cute bow on top of the dowel on either side of the legs and you’re done! Now, I’m going to tell you to be VERY careful transporting your R2D2…like super duper careful…sadly this little R2D2 didn’t quite look this cute when he made it to the shower. Clearly, I blame the Dark Side!
