How to Make a Fairy Flower Keychain

Time needed: 20 minutes
Learn how to make a fairy flower keychain using a faux flower bud, wooden bead, embroidery floss, craft wire, and keychain hardware. This whimsical craft works as a bag charm, backpack accessory, or handmade gift.
- Prep the wire and keychain
Cut a piece of craft wire and attach it to the keychain ring by twisting it securely around the metal ring. This is the part where we create the tiny floral infrastructure.
- Add the flower dress
Pick a small faux flower bud for the fairy’s body. Rosebuds work especially well because they already look like a tiny floral dress and are doing a lot of the work for you. Slide the faux flower bud onto the wire so it hangs below the keychain ring. Congratulations, your fairy now has a very respectable little outfit.
- Make the fairy face
Draw a simple face and hairline on the wooden bead, then add embroidery floss for hair. Go for sweet and whimsical, not tiny haunted Victorian child.
- Put it all together
Slide the bead onto the wire above the flower, secure everything neatly, and clip your finished fairy flower keychain onto your keys or bag like the woodland icon it is.
Helpful Tips
A clothespin makes it much easier to hold the bead or flower while drawing the face and hair details. Tiny fairy salon chair. Highly technical setup. For longer fairy hair, Cut a small bundle of embroidery floss and attach it to the wooden bead for hair. Trim it to your desired length.
Make It Your Own

This is also a great way to use up random craft supplies that have been waiting in a drawer for their big moment!
