With Halloween upon us, I thought I’d share some of my favorite costumes with you! A few years back, my kids were on a Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs kick–specifically the second movie that included Foodimals. You know…a shrimpanzee or a Watermelephant?? We must have watched that movie a hundred times. Clearly this mama couldn’t say no when they asked me to make them Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs Costumes!
Little did I know that meant making a Cheesebuger Spider Costume, complete with French Fry legs…A Barry the Strawberry Costume…I was instructed that it had to be a “girly sparkly Barry dress!”
*please note that I am not anywhere close to being blonde*
Since my dad is the coolest–he joined us as our very own Flint Lockwood!
Lots of felt, foam, googly eyes, sequins, hot glue, and tears went into these bad boys! But it was all well worth it–I just love seeing them get into character!!
I used wire from a coat hanger to shape the headpiece of the strawberry…in green sequins of course.
The sesame seed eyes are made from oval wood pieces and googly eyes (a lot of them).
It was a fun night–and boy, how they’ve grown! Halloween is always something we look forward to every year, full of memories we’ll never forget.
In the end, the weather was great: Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and all!
